Cheat mode:
Go to the title screen and type "raistlin" followed by [Space]
to enable cheat mode with unlimited ships.

Skip stages:
First enable cheat mode.

Pause game play and press N to jump to the next level.
Pause game play and press L to return to the previous level.

or
On the title page, type NECRONOMICON for unlimited lives.
Pause the game and hit "N" to advance to the next level,
or "L" for the current level.
